It’s time to get personal

Video

We all love to learn by video because it feels easier and more personal. So take advantage of that and let’s add it to your site.

You need a video host to add video to your site because the files are so large. The main options are:

Vimeo — good and integrates many places
Wistia — high-end with many marketing tools
YouTube — not recommended on websites

I recommend either Vimeo or Wistia. If you want to use YouTube because it’s also a search engine, then upload there in addition. But you don’t want to usually embed YouTube videos on your own site because you can’t style them and you’ll get random messages at the end. You’ll have much more control over your videos using the other two providers.

I’ll match your player color to your brand. Wistia includes great marketing options, however, Vimeo is integrated with many other tools and costs a lot less.

Audio

Audio is also a great communication tool that people have re-acknowledged thanks to the growth of podcasts (aka radio). As with video, you’ll want an outside host to embed a lot of audio because of file sizes. Souncloud is used most often. If you’ve only got a few audio files, you can host them on your own site and I’ll style a great-looking player for you.

Accepting credit cards on your website has never been easier, thanks to vendors like PayPal and Stripe.

You don’t need an elaborate e-commerce setup to be able to accept payment by credit card. Most people want to pay using credit cards today and accepting them means better cash flow for your business too.

I connect either or both PayPal Payments Pro and Stripe to your site.

BOOK & PAY AT ONCE

Many scheduling software providers, such as Calendly, allow payment processing, which is a very helpful add-on because it means someone can book an appointment and pay at the same time. (You still need a payment account with PayPal or Stripe to accept payments.) No muss, no fuss.

CRMs like Ontraport also include payment capabilities.

Gravity Forms, the premiere WordPress form builder, also integrates with PayPal Pro and Stripe so we can create a form on your site that includes payment without having to use an outside service to sell tickets.

It’s easier than ever before for the “little guy” to look like and use tools like the “big guy” without breaking the bank.

One of those tools is having e-mail that comes from your own domain. I use Google business e-mail (NOT free Gmail), part of Google Workspace, to set clients up with their business e-mail.

Google Workspace e-mail is widely agreed to be the best solution today for this task. It helps limit spam and rarely has technical issues. It also has excellent tech support.
